Ensure .NET 3.5 or later is installed

 

  1. Click on the start bar and select "Control Panel"
  2. Double click on "Programs and Features"


  3. Select "Turn Windows Features on or off" from the side pane. 


  4. Select "Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1" and click OK


  5. Wait for installer to complete

Disable UAC on workers (not required on supervisors)

 

  1. Click on the start bar and type in "UAC" in the search
  2. Click on the link to "Change User Account Control Settings"
  3. Move the slider down to "Never Notify"
  4. Click "Ok" this will prompt you to reboot your computer

Disable the Firewall

It is necessary to have certain ports open for the Qube Supervisor, Worker, and Client machines to communicate. One should either disable the firewall completely on the local machine, or open specific ports for Qube to communicate via TCP/IP and UDP.

  • 50001 TCP/IP and UDP
  • 50002 TCP/IP and UDP
  • 50011 TCP/IP and UDP
  • 50012 TCP/IP and UDP

 

  1. Click on the start bar and type in "firewall" in the search
  2. Click on the link to "Windows Firewall" 


  3. Click on the link " Turn Windows Firewall on or off"
  4. Select "Turn off Windows Firewall (not recommended)" on all available networks
  5. Click "Ok"
