Tip

We now recommend performing all installs and upgrades with our new Qube Installer utility. It will handle downloads, installs and upgrades all from the same utility.

Please refer to Install, Upgrade, or Uninstall using QubeInstaller Wizard

To install the Qube worker software manually

Install the following Qube components:

  1. Qube Core
  2. Qube Worker
  3. QubeGUI (optional)
  4. Qube Jobtypes (Maya, XSI, etc)
  5. [Windows] Install Perl (if Jobtypes installed, usually requiring perl). Download version Perl 5.6 – 5.14 from www.activestate.com.
  6. [Windows] Install Python (if using Jobtypes requiring python). Download Python 2.7 from www.activestate.com. Also supports python versions 2.4, and 2.5, and 2.6 on Windows.

Configure the Worker:

  1. Specify Supervisor (required if not on same subnet as Supervisor) and execution mode:
    1. Launch the QubeGUI
    2. Select Administration->Configuration to bring up a dialog
    3. Set the "qb_supervisor" parameter to the Supervisor hostname or IP address
  2. Disable the Firewall or see Enabling Qube to work through a firewall
