We're often asked if all or part of Qube can automatically power up and suspend workers, such as:
- the Qube supervisor automatically suspending machines when idle for X time.
- the Qube supervisor automatically powering up machines when required for farm activity.
Unfortunately, the short answer is "not yet".
These topics are on our roadmap & should appear in a future release.
You can, however, reboot or shutdown machines using "qbadmin worker --reboot" or "qbadmin worker --shutdown". If you have a working IMPI infrastructure, creating a "power on" or "power off" plugin for ArtistView would be trivial (talk to support@pipelinefx.com if it's not immediately obvious)
